How to get an official Steam signature!

Post by N3bulouz »

Hey guys!

Some of my fellow dream-evilians asked me how I got that Steam signature, well, time to explain. ;)
 • Go to http://steamprofile.com/
 • Log in through your Steam (It's 100% save!)
 • The website will make a nice image for you, which is updated every 5 minutes or something
 • Copy the Forum link and post it in your User Control Panel > User Signature
 • If you want a link anchored to your image (clicklink), do so as stated below:

Code: Select all

copy this to your UCP:

with 'http://steamcommunity.com/id/N3bulouz' as YOUR Steam Profile URL (doesn't have to be your Steam Profile, can be anything)
and 'http://badges.steamprofile.com/profile/extended/steam/76561197997517181.png' as the direct link given at the page that generated YOUR image.
So replace that links with YOUR links.

I advice you not to call it 'official' since it is not official nor supported by Steam.

At least Steam allows steamprofile.com to enter your account.

like it,
@Doggie: i saw that the website is made and secured by the Valve Corporation (US) and the Steam Community, doesn't that mean, that it IS supported by steam?

If it is supported by steam, doesn't necessarily mean its official.

It allows you to log-in to your Steam account through an openly available API for enhancing one's browsing by allowing people to log in to services like Steam, Facebook, MySpace on other websites. This does not mean it is either supported by or affiliated with Steam, nor does it make it official. Look at all the blogs - you can post comments using your Facebook profile, but that doesn't mean the blog is the "official" Facebook blog, right?

Now, let's stay on topic.
